As the company founder, I appreciate you visiting the website for Golf Club Consulting, Inc and for your interest in the services we offer. The information below is a broad overview of myself and should aid in your understanding of the leadership expertise of the company.
During the course of a diverse 30-year career in all facets of golf operations, I have served as Vice President of Golf Operations for Great American Clubs, Inc., worked as Western Regional Superintendent for ClubCorp, employed as a Golf Course Superintendent, built or managed the construction or renovation of 7 golf courses and completed operational maintenance or due diligence analysis on over 30 golf course facilities. My work experience is quite varied having performed golf operations related tasks from Texas to Minnesota and from California to the Caribbean island of St. Thomas. A shining highlight of my career was my construction and operating role at the premier Aspen Glen Club (Colorado), an award-winning Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.
As a student of design, construction and course maintenance, I am very fortunate to have been exposed to operational management aspects by some of the very best in the industry. My consulting experience also has given me equally important exposure to independent operators and developers. Opportunities to work on courses designed by such respected names as Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio and in a wide variety of locations, conditions and agronomic environments have proven extremely valuable. In 1983, I became one of the youngest to earn the professional designation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS), which is achieved through rigorous evaluations and examinations. Throughout my career, I have received numerous achievement and professional awards, among them include ClubCorp Gold Circle of Excellence Award (3), ClubCorp Member Survey Award (8), ClubCorp Most Improved Golf Course Award, Audubon International Environmental Certification
and the prestigious GCSAA Environmental Merit Award. My financial responsibilities have included multi-million dollar projects and annual operating budgets in excess of $1,000,000 annually.
In 1974, I graduated from the University of Florida – Lake City with a degree in Golf Operations. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors through cycling, hiking, jogging, golf and am a dedicated collector of golf memorabilia. I reside in western Colorado with my daughter and my wife, of 30 years.
