The Fountains CC is a private, member-owned country club established in 1972 in Palm Beach County, Florida. The club is located on 865 landscaped acres within a gated golf community in Lake Worth.
The Fountains Country Club is seeking a candidate for our Golf Course Superintendent position. The Fountains is a private gated facility with three championship golf courses designed by Von-Hagge/Devlin located in Lake Worth, Florida just outside West Palm Beach. We are looking for a candidate that is a “Team Player" and has a passion to exceed member expectations and has an uncompromising attention to detail. The candidate must have strong organizational and leadership skills and committed to developing and training their employee partners. The candidate should have excellent communication skills with Club Members and employees.
Private course; 54 holes; Greens: Champion Bermudagrass; Tees and fwys: 419 Bermudagrass; courses surrounded by homes
Duties:
- Creating and managing budgets, financial responsibilities, strategic planning and staff management.
- Plan and budget for additional or replacement capital equipment.
- Provide agronomic direction for the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees and other plant materials.
- Maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times.
- Supervise the application and recording of chemical applications on the Club’s grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure that the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
- Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees.
- Interact with the Director of Golf to maximize the number of rounds of golf played, and to schedule maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience as a Head Golf Superintendent at a multiple course facility
- Assistant Superintendent with multi course experience will be considered
- Minimum 2-4 year College Agronomy Degree (or related)
- Certification/License
- FL Pesticide Applicators License
- Bi-lingual (Spanish helpful)
- Computer skills, Microsoft Word/Excel
