Partnership Consulting
Taking care of a golf course. Sound boring?
Not when your whole business is riding on it.
Too often, people think of Golf Course Maintenance as just watering and mowing grass. It is a multi-faceted business that requires many specialties and skills.
We know you don't want to leave your golf business to chance, but in many cases, the maintenance of a golf course is a secondary concern until there are problems.
As a result of the problems caused by this approach, we have developed a valuable tool to proactively solve golf course maintenance related problems, called Partnership Consulting.
What is Partnership Consulting?
It is simply agronomy and golf course maintenance support on an on-going basis. Support that we provide you.
Who would BENEFIT from Partnership Consulting?
- Clubs that want to improve golf course conditions
- Owners that have multiple golf operations
- Clubs that would like to streamline their golf course maintenance operations
- Clubs that want more for less
- Clubs that want to solve or avoid a turf grass problem
- Clubs that are considering outsourcing the golf course maintenance (which will also transfer control).
- Facilities that need someone with knowledge of agronomy, golf course construction and the golf business and can blend them together to result in quality turf and impeccable playing conditions
What is the GOAL of Partnership Consulting?
To improve every aspect of a golf course maintenance operation, both by controlling costs and providing superior playing conditions.
What is INVOLVED in Partnership Consulting?
The first step in our Partnership Consulting relationship is also the most important, the establishment of a written Maintenance Plan.
The Maintenance Plan will outline each aspect of the golf course maintenance operation. It communications the goal for each aspect, what will be done and who is responsible. Turf problems or efficiency issues at a golf course can always be tied to not having a plan of attack.
Look at a Maintenance Plan as road map for the care of the golf course. A road map gets you where you want to be.
From there, it is carrying out the plan and dealing with issues that present themselves.
What is INCLUDED in a Maintenance Plan?
Each golf operation is unique, each with its own problems, needs and standards. The following is a sampling of what is always included:
- Goal for each component of golf course maintenance
- Plan on how to care for each golf course feature (greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, cart paths, etc.)
- Turf grass cultural practices (aerifying, topdressing, vertical mowing, etc)
- Mowing practices
- Fertilizer and pesticide applications
- Equipment care
- Who is responsible?
- Irrigation
Why should I use Golf Club Consulting Inc. to IMPROVE my course?
- Access information and tools for a fraction of the cost of having a full-time specialist on staff
- Utilize the experience of a Turf grass Agronomist that has been involved with over 50 golf courses and 33 years in the golf course management industry
- Troubleshoot problems
- Increase revenues
- Benefit from unlimited email and phone support
Why is the CONDITION of the golf course so important?
- For private clubs, the golf course is the #1 reason why people join or not join
- For public golf courses, the condition of the golf course is a major reason why people choose to play a certain golf course
- The golf course maintenance budget is always the highest expense of any golf property
- The condition of the golf course will positively or negatively affect revenues
What are some TIPS OF SUCCESS in improving my course?
- Fix the problem, not the symptoms
- Communicate to the people that use your golf business
- Be patient (the only thing that happens fast on a golf course is dead grass)
- Keep issues in perspective of value
- Treat the condition of the golf course as THE marketing tool of the facility
- Your employees are the best tools for improvement
- Think the basics (air, water, nutrients, mowing, cultural practices and sunlight)
